Our Field

​The Long Island Aero Radio Society (L.I.A.R.S.) utilizes the Brookhaven Model Aviation Facility (BMAF) located off Martha Avenue in the Township of Bellport, New York. Long Island Aero Radio Society is currently considered the host club of the (BMAF) by the Town of Brookhaven Department of Parks, Recreation and Human Resources Commission. Runway and Flight Areas

The club maintains marked flight stations, a large paved L shaped runway (the side used will depend on time of day and wind direction), and a regularly mowed grass field. There is also a small area dedicated to those who want to practice hovering and 3D maneuvers with their aircraft.

Pavilion, Pits, and Amenities

In Addition to the paved runway our club offers a pavilion, starting benches, workstations, picnic tables, a portable toilet (warmer months), and much more!

Field Maintenance

The club regularly schedules field clean up days to keep our facility and runways clean and in good condition. In addition improvements such as work stations and benches are done on an as needed basis.
