Membership Process
Junior memberships are available (19 years or younger).
Everything applies as below except that the initiation fee is waived and dues are half the current amount ($25.00 presently).

1. Download, print, and review the following documents:
2. Non Brookhaven Town residents must check to see if a waiting list is in effect before application is submitted.
3. Obtain a sponsor. Sponsors must be a member in good standing and a member for more than 1 year. A member can sponsor one person per year.
4. Prospective member must have valid full AMA membership. A copy of your AMA card must be submitted with application. To learn more about AMA membership or to find out how to get a membership please click here.
5. Prospective member must follow current FAA regulation and register themselves and their aircraft. Your sUAS registration number will be required to complete your membership application. For more information please click here.
6. Completed application must be submitted at a regular club meeting along with a check for the $50.00 annual dues. Read and sign that all field rules and bylaws have been read.
7. The Prospective member will then be issued a probationary permit. This allows the prospective member to fly with an instructor present, please click here to learn more about flight instruction. Probationary permits are valid for 9 months. If a prospective member does not meet the 3 meeting requirement within the 9 month time frame, he/she must reapply,
8. The Prospective member must attend 3 meetings. A club function such as field clean up, fun fly, etc counts as a meeting. After the meeting requirement is met, the probationary permit becomes a Student Permit.
9. At this time the new member is eligible to take his pilots test (if the student is ready). Test is to be administered by 2 present instructors. It is the members responsibility to have the test paperwork.
10. If the member passes flight test, he/she is issued a Pilot Permit along with a key to the gate.

- E Pilot (fixed wing electric planes only)
- Pilot (fixed wing fuel and electric)
- Helicopter - Helicopters will be permitted for those members who have been members in good standing prior to OCTOBER 2020, and are current. For more information please see our field rules.
